Learning to Play

Davey is learning new and exciting things about his world each day. Just this week he has learned how to place the balls in the dinosaur thing, make motor sounds while pushing his truck around, and make funny noises by flapping his hand infront of his mouth! What a fun time to be a kid!

The last picture shows a minor victory in the Shaw house. The final piece of trim goes up in the nursery! (Just at about 1 year after the rest of the room was finished.) We were given the lovely trim by a friend and was short about 30 inches to go over his door. Well, it was a custom design, so Josh had to get the knives made to even make the piece. So long story short...it is finally cut and up in the room. I think Josh is just happy to be finished with it!

Another snow day has claimed a day in June, but at least it was a Friday! Davey was acting a little off yesterday, so it is good that he can stay home with Mom. Could teeth be coming? I will keep you posted...

Snow Days!

Well, I don't know if I should actually call them "Snow" days...maybe "Ice" days would be better. What was supposed to be a dumping of 12 inches of snow Monday night actually became 1 inch of ice! Either way..NO SCHOOL Tuesday or Wednesday. Of course we will make them up...but hey! I will take a day off any time! Davey was looking forward to a good deep snow to play in...hopefully we will get another round before spring.

Pictures are of Davey's first Oreo and him in a hand-knit swaeter from a great lady in our church. He hated the hood being up...but I couldn't resist! He loves walking behind the scooter car from Christmas. And yesterday he made a mad dask up 8 stairs after the cat. (No worries...Mom was standing by!)

Here is a funny story from the sitter's...One day last week, Davey was the only kid there. So he had a big day doing whatever he wanted! Well, while changing a wet diaper, the phone rang. So Judith ran to get it and left Davey diaperless for a few seconds. She knew he would probably move, but not a big deal. However, she couldn't stop laughing when she got back to him! He had crawled over to the front window (which go all the way to the floor) and pulled up to them. The scene when she returned was him dancing and hitting his hands on the window...naked from the waist down! While she lives on the busiest street in Vernon, luckily that isn't saying much!

So long for now from Steph and her future flasher, Davey!

10 Months Already?

It is hard to believe but in a few short days Davey will be 10 months old! We finally got his passport in! The picture is precious inside. Of course, Davey wanted to chew on it. He loves scooting around on his little car and almost has the rocking horse figured out. The picture where he is in pink is a funny story...Though he had a manly navy blue outfit on when I dropped him off at the sitters...he came home in a pink sweatshirt! He had a bit of a rough diaper day and went through his 2 outfits. So Judith had to resort to an extra outfit of the other kid there that day...of course she is a girl. But I have to say...Davey is a pretty boy in pink, huh???

He is more active than ever and it seems like we are feeding him constantly. He doesn't care what it is, but as long as it is big people food he wants it! He is still skinny as ever, but the kid loves to eat! Still no teeth!

He wishes that he could play and rough house like the bigger boys at the sitters, but his day will come. It just seems like yesterday that he was small enough to cuddle in my arms, now at 20 lbs. he is an arm full. We are getting a new morning routine down. He wakes up a little too early...I nurse him...and then we go back to sleep together in my bed. I wouldn't trade that 30 minute snuggle session for anything!
